Philips Research and the Eindhoven University of Technology invite you for an IEEE supported one-day Workshop on
“Content generation and coding for 3D-television”
Introduction
The introduction of (auto)stereoscopic 3D displays
to the market has resulted in the need to have high quality 3D video content.
The availability of 3D content is important for the introduction of
3D-television for both professional and consumer applications.
However, obtaining high quality 3D video content is difficult
and will require new acquisition, signal processing and coding methods.
This workshop therefore focuses on new methods related to content
generation and coding for 3D-television.
Call for papers
This conference solicits original contributions on:
- New signal processing methods dealing content generation,
2D to 3D conversion or video coding for stereoscopic display.
- New 3D acquisition methods for stereoscopic display.
- New applications of stereoscopic displays for which signal processing is non-trivial.
Prospective authors are invited to submit a two-page abstract describing
the signal processing method proposed (option 1) or the new application (option 2).
Authors should clearly state the problem at hand and the proposed solution.
The number of papers is limited, and a selection of papers will be made by the program committee.
The signal processing problems can include but are not limited to:
- 2D to 3D video conversion;
- 3D video compression;
- signal processing related to 3D video acquisition;
- multi-view video capture;
- games and entertainment;
- 3D applications (e.g. industrial, medical, geographic).
Accepted papers will be included in the workshop proceedings and are maximally four pages
in size. Presentations will be in poster form.
The workshop program consists of invited presentations only.
